10 Fitness Gifts for the Holidays

Our guide to the best wellness and fitness gifts this holiday season

We asked the sporty editorial team at AGEIST what they have loved this past year that would make a welcome holiday gift. Here are the 10 wellness gifts for your active body-oriented friends and family.

Comrad Compression socks We started wearing these for those epic long-haul flights to help keep the blood from pooling in our feet. Now they are worn daily and for workouts, as we find them energizing. The robust elastic in these socks will hold up to a lot of stretching.

Basis From Elysium David swears by Basis and the NAD+ story. He takes Basis every day and has for years.

Athletic Greens – the travel pack box Jonathan is a big fan, and takes them every day. They are especially prized for travel, when it can be difficult to get proper nutrition.

Silk Sleep Mask If one is not sleepy, well, one’s health and mental performance are impacted. Some of us are very sensitive to light, and this is a wonderful solution.

Oura Ring We are big fans of tracking. The Oura will measure your resting heart rate, your heart rate variability, your sleep duration and quality, your body temperature, and your daytime activity.

Breath by James Nestor – Audio version Breathing is something very few of us do well. Which is rather shocking considering how much practice we have at it. Nestor breaks down what the historical issues are, the many ways to improve your breathing, and some of the more extreme versions of breathing. The audio book is the way to go on this one.

Ikon Fitness doorway bar The home gym is something that is top of mind these days. The humble pull-up can only be done with something stable to hang off of. You need a pull-up bar. This one is rugged, stable, and safe.

Backnobber You can’t easily get a massage these days, but your upper back is still filled with knots that you can’t reach. This thing works really well to get to the spots that are impossible to otherwise reach.

Rumbleroller This is our favorite foam roller, and we have used a lot of them. Foam rolling becomes more and more part of our daily routines as our muscles don’t seem to slip around each other as easily as they used to.

Upgraded yoga mat. If you are working out on a hard floor and you don’t want to bruise yourself along your spine, you will need more padding than a standard yoga mat. This one is our favorite. It comes in a range of colors.
