A Safe and Effective Treatment for Dementia

One field of medicine that we are always thrilled to see advancements in is the field of neurodegenerative diseases. A recent study from Osaka City University discovered that, in mice trials, there is a safe and effective nasal treatment for Alzheimer’s disease, frontotemporal dementia, and dementia with Lewy bodies. The nasal treatment consists of rifampicin and resveratrol which is safer and more effective at improving cognitive function than rifampicin alone. What is even more exciting is where the study is heading next: the development of a nasal spray to prevent dementia, not just treat it.
