We are big fans of this small San Francisco design company. We had a look at their City Sling Bag a couple of months ago, and this month we have been using their equally well-designed dopp kit.
Similar to the Travel Sling, it is made of tough-as-nails ballistic nylon. The design touches are clearly from the mind of someone who has spent a lot of time traveling with a dopp kit in hotel rooms. First off, there is a big hook on top inside of the bag. This means you don’t have to take up space on a tiny hotel sink to set your bag. You can hang it from a towel bar or a hook and have full access to the contents without them spilling out. Genius.
Next, because it opens like a suitcase, folding open along the long edge rather than a zipper from the top, it tends to stay much more organized. It has the same volume as my Tumi dopp kit, but it stays in much better shape without all the bits and bobs floating around in the bottom of the dopp.
There are ample pockets on the front and back of the exterior, mesh pocket on the inside for a wet toothbrush, and a carry handle on top. As someone who, pre-COVID, was a regular user of hotels and long-haul flights, this is a wonderfully tidy and modern reinvention of the classic dopp.
Congratulations to AER on another great product. Thoughtful design, high-quality materials and workmanship, great customer service.
